FREE FLIGHTS FOR DURHAM REGION RESIDENTS

Registration opens 12:00am May 24

Durham Region Youth aged 8 to 17 are eligible for a free flight in a small airplane!

Participants must be registered online in advance.

A parent or legal guardian must sign a liability waiver at the event.

Flights are offered annually at our Young Eagles events, typically the second or third Saturday of June each year.

Flights are subject to weather, pilot and aircraft availability.

Flights include a brief introduction to the basics of flight.

Participants will receive a Pilot Logbook.

Flights are conducted at the main terminal at the Oshawa Executive Airport. Click for MAP

INTERNATIONAL YOUNG EAGLES PROGRAM

Young Eagles is an international program run by the Experimental Aircraft Association to introduce youth to aviation.
This event is hosted by EAA members and volunteers in the Durham Region.
Pilots donate their fuel and aircraft to provide a free flight experience to Young Eagles.

EAA STUDENT MEMBERSHIP

EAA Student Membership registration

All Young Eagles under age 18 are eligible for a free EAA Student membership. This includes the online EAA Sport Aviation magazine, e-newsletters, members-only website, Academy of Model Aeronautics Student Membership, free admission to over 300 science and technology museums, and more. SPORTY′S ON-LINE GROUNDSCHOOL

Young Eagles who sign up for a free EAA Student membership have free access to Sporty′s Learn To Fly Course (groundschool for the Private Pilot license). This is a great way to begin your aviation education! The course is a $199US value and is sponsored by Sporty′s Pilot Shop.

FREE FLIGHT LESSON

After completing the first three volumes of the Sporty′s Learn To Fly course, Young Eagles age 13 to 19 qualify for a free flight lesson at the flight school of your choice ($130US value).

Young Eagles who sign up for a free EAA Student membership have access to the electronic copy of the EAA Sport Aviation magazine.
